The Story of a Morning

This project was created for Blossom VN Jam 2023. 

Story: 

For the better part of 7 centuries, Avice has experienced the march of time in 24 hour increments. Bound to the tree that houses her best—and worst—memories, she wanders the New Keltberk Botanical Gardens each year on the anniversary of her death. Ignored by the living, she has grown used to isolation and prefers to avoid the touring crowds by hiding in the arboretum. 

This year, however, she quickly finds her solitary vigil interrupted by the impromptu appearance of a young clairvoyant. Airheaded and immature, Quinn is the very definition of a problem child. But what they lack in brain cells, they more than make up for in sheer obstinance. 

Can these two troubled souls overcome their differences and find peace? Or will their futures remain bound to chains of the past?   

Characters: 

Avice: 

Age: 28 

An enterprising young woman from 13th century England whose thread of life was tragically cut short. She can often be found wandering the arboretum, unseen and unheard— exactly how she likes it. Don’t be fooled by appearances: beneath her matronly demeanor lies the smoldering remains of a feisty, spirited youth.  

Quinn: 

Age: 21

A vivacious and… unique individual, the sole heir of world-renown business tycoon Francois Featherstonehaugh. Their reputation as a family disgrace has recently culminated in threats of disownment. But it’s fine! After all, who needs shelter or a steady income? Everyone knows the real secret to fame and success is unbridled passion!
